Bravo Bunch presents ” Heart of Stone”
November 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
“Heart of Stone” is a play performed by local home-schooled Christian teens, and is written and directed by Debra Roberts along side her co-director Faith Rivers.
It takes place in Jerusalem during the time of Roman Rule in the year 33 AD, where Malachi and his best friends, Aiden, Jonathan, and Hezekiah have just finished building a new home for Malachi and his new bride, Abigail. With the arrival of Malachi’s opinionated mother and the political and religious unrest of a time dominated by Roman rule, conflict arises between Malachi and Abigail’s family and friends. Malachi, a successful stone carver, wants to avoid all this conflict so he hardens himself against God and against others. Unlike apathetic Malachi, Abigail is intrigued in the new teacher, Jesus. She and her friends often go to hear him speak until Abigail’s mother-in-law finds out and threatens her. Tragedy strikes for the new couple but soon after a miracle occurs that changes both of their lives, softening the harden heart of Malachi.
