The Justice & Peace Ministry of the United Christian Parish will be hosting a two-day online Social Justice Conference with the theme: What kind of community do you want to live in?
Conference Schedule
Friday, October 29 (7-9 PM)
Keynote-Rev. Dr. Alvin Jackson (Executive Director of Mass Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington)
Saturday, October 30 (10 AM-12:30 PM)
Speakers-David Broder (President at Service Employees International Union Virginia 512), Rev. Emma Chattin (Pastor of Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia), Tram Nguyen (Co-Executive Director of New Virginia Majority)
The conference is designed to leave you with essential actions you can take to make your community and relationships more inclusive and equitable. You will not be overwhelmed with a bunch of sessions filled with ideas that will leave you more overwhelmed than when you began. Instead, you’ll be encouraged and resourced for future action.
The conference is a 100% digital experience focused on engagement and participant interaction on Zoom. It is free and is open to anyone passionate about social justice. Registration (ucpreston.org/conference) is required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to join both days.
